What is the TBGTE Golf League?
As stated above, this league has been in existence for many years and is currently governed over by a 10 player Board of Directors. It is their charter to select the courses that the league plays at during the season. A typical season runs between the time changes (middle of March to the beginning of November).

Last year, the League played at FIVE courses, in and around Tampa Bay, for both the Spring Season and Fall Season: Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club on Monday, Pebble Creek Golf Club on Tuesday, Bloomingdale Golfers Club and TPC Tampa Bay on Wednesday, and Lexington Oaks Golf Course on Thursday, all were shotgun starts at 5:00 PM. All the courses offered great rates for golf, plus food and drink specials.

The Spring Season play consists of 18 weekly 9-hole match play rounds between flighted 2 player teams. Session champions are declared at the end of three six-week round robin segments with the overall winner being declared the Flight Champion. Up to half the teams can qualify during the Spring season to compete in the playoffs that will ultimately determine the League Champions in July and August.

The Fall Season is a 2 player scramble for 9 holes that runs for 10 - 12 weeks, depending on the timing. The play is at the same courses as the Spring Season. Shotgun starting times vary from 4:30 to 5:00 due to the diminishing sun light in the October evenings.

The information pertaining to handicaps and individual/team scoring, along with tournament scoring, are kept using software from GolfSoftware.Com. The pairings and results for each week are kept on this website, separated by course and flight, and are available to each league golfer. Golfers may choose to play at more than one course, or more than one night and there are provisions for that. Handicaps used for league play follow the guidelines setup by GHIN®, a USGA service.

Recap:
Spring Season - 2 player team, handicapped, flights by ability, individual match play for 18 weeks, League Championship Tournament (NCAA® brackets style, single elimination)

Fall Season - 2 player team, handicapped, flights by ability, scramble format for 10-12 weeks
What else do we do?

Charities
A portion of the proceeds from all TBGTE Golf League Tournaments are given to an ever changing group of charities. These include, The American Cancer Society®, Joshua House, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®, and others. The charities are invited to setup information stands by the registration table to raise awareness, and they are mentioned in the awards portion of the tournament gathering.
